Mardi Gras 22

COVID GRAS is Coming

It’s been one year since New Orleans and most of the world canceled Mardi Gras for the first time in a very long time. While we are not out of the pandemic as year 2 rolls around, the City has decided the party will go on in 2022, but on a scaled back format.

12 Night Jan 6th

12 Night kicks things off with the traditional Phunny Phorty Phellows. It’s the only Mardi Gras “Parade” i’v been and always fun to watch leave the station. There are a few more 12 night parades these days, but we have not had a chance to check them out.

Weekend 1 Saturday Feb 12 6:30

Krew de Vew has already cut the parade short, and one of their key patrons is skipping the parade.

krewedelusion follows and they are starting on Royal St. this year in the Quarter.

Weekend 2 Friday Feb 18 – Sunday Feb 20

The second weekend is always a good time to bring in the youngsters and family if they want some Mardi Gras without the huge drunken crowds.

Rex rolls at 10:00 followed by Elks and Crescent City.

Then, for those of you that haven’t been to the old Big Easy Mardi Gras, the Trucks start to roll, and roll, and roll………. Best to head to the Quarter to close the deal.
